Over in the Nordic regions, looks like there'll be a shuffle in the C More group of premium TV channels.

If entries in Logopedia are to believed true, C More First and C More Series would be rebranded under the MTV name, and are renamed to MTV Aitio and MTV Viihde respectively.

Meanwhile, Swedish-exclusive sports channels C More Fotboll and C More Hockey could be renamed under the TV4 umbrella. It was reported that the C More channels in the country will be closed down by this Summer (www.broadbandtvnews.com ), so these might be the ones staying.

Again, I couldn't find any news articles supporting the reshuffle, but it's probably worth to keep an eye on.

And indeed they are, with C More's content to be integrated into a rebranded TV4 Play in August:
Quote:C More today has several sports packages and holds rights such as the Champions League and SHL. These will move into TV4. At the same time, the channels are re-dressed in TV4's style and will change names. C more Hockey and C More Fotboll become TV4 Hockey and TV4 Fotboll.

In general, it seems Nordics are well into streaming, even compared to much of the remaining West, with Benelux following suit, so it makes a lot sense, also given the size of the TV industry

Most of the pay TV industry has been decimated, and mostly ad-feeded FTA channels remain somehow strong.

RTL, Hungary’s last major government-independent channel has added a rainbow flag to its on-air logo today for the occasion of Budapest Pride and in support of the increasingly suppressed LGBTQ community.

Two days ago the National Media and Communications Authority prohibited RTL from airing a commercial for Pride, saying it is “not advertising with a social purpose, but promoting homosexuality, which may influence minors in a bad way”, therefore the ad can only be broadcast between 10 pm and 5 am. RTL filled a lawsuit against the decision. Hungary’s parliament passed an anti-LGBT law in 2021.

RTL is currently in a neck-and-neck race with TV2 to be the market leader channel and television group in Hungary.

Returning to this topic, Ukrainian TV channel Novyi kanal in 26 June (one day only) also joined in support of the LGBTQ+ community, adding LGBTQ+-heart logo. Of course, my society is divided into two camps and the first (including "soviet" children since 2010s) is "Ew! I won't watch this channel and regional Kyiv24, just like I don't use telecom operators, Ukrposhta, go to Comfy to buy a new phone, or buy a new "German cars", because my parents said, that they're a bad people. "

Coming back to Novyi, today the channel celebrates its 25th anniversary, and on this occasion the broadcaster decided to reconstruct the old idents in a "slightly crooked" with 2012 logo replaces original one since 1998 or 2005

Super RTL in Germany will rebrand to the new corporate style as RTL Super in August:
Quote:"Under a strong umbrella brand RTL, we combine the entire diversity of good entertainment and independent journalism across all channels, genres and offerings," Julian Weiss, Chief Marketing Officer of RTL Germany, explained the move to DWDL.de. "In doing so, the umbrella brand RTL will always be in first place as the central promise, followed by the respective product differentiation." So the "Super", which has been in front so far, will have to be subordinated in future.

[...]

The new name RTL Super, including the new appearance, will come into effect on 15 August, as the channel confirmed to DWDL.de. Irrespective of this, the children's entertainment brand Toggo is to be retained.

RTL Zwei or Nitro is probably gonna be next after RTL Super.

That's like rebranding E4 to 4E or More 4 to 4 More... just seems like a bad idea. It highlights how inflexible the new RTL branding actually is. Not to mention boring (at least in Germany): random ugly colours, very bland typography, simple black background.

I thought I read somewhere that because they bought the shares Disney had in Super RTL, they were planning on replacing it with a full Toggo channel? I guess plans must've fell through and that RTL seem comfortable keeping "RTL Super" as a channel.

Still though, might be interesting to see if the graphics end up being adaptations of the "SUPER PRIMETIME"-esc graphics we have currently for the channel.

In Germany it looks INDEED boring.

Why do they feel to change the strategy, I guess: even Disney Channel has an adult block post-20:15, inspired by Super RTL
