At the same time, they are bound by OFCOM to show impartiality whether in debates or in interviews. Gloria De Piero being a classic example of someone who is on the left.
But why does Dan Wootton brand his show as “no bias”.
The fact he feels the need to state that should be an instant red flag.

It’s like if you met your new next-door neighbour for the first time and they said, “Hello, I’m Frank and I’m NOT going to burgle your house,” you might be a little concerned.

It's like Fox News branding themselves as 'fair and balanced'. I tend to think it's kind of a dogwhistle - 'no bias' actually means a very particular bias (but in the minds of Dan and the people he's aiming at, that is merely 'the troof'. The Biased Broadcasting Corporation and Sly News (ugh) are in league with the Guardian to install a Labour government, after all - and no, I'm not making this up. This is something he regularly accuses on his programme).

'Mr Awkward' aka Martin Daubney disappeared during the 8am News Headlines sequence on Breakfast this morning leaving Rosie Wright to present alone. Do hope the guy was ok. Warming to him presenting the programme as he gains more on camera experience but let's hope Eamonn returns to 'steady the ship' in early 2023.

Camilla Tominey's programme starts on 8 January:

www.mediamole.co.uk

Quote:The journalist - associate editor of The Telegraph - will present an "informative and entertaining" weekly programme live from the station's studio in Westminster Tower, which overlooks the Houses of Parliament.

The Camilla Tominey Show will air over 90 minutes from 9.30am, directly after Sky News' rival show with Sophy Ridge ends, and will be followed by Michael Portillo's Sunday show.

Would be nice if they could try and do something (anything) that wasn't based around the PowerPoint-esk design.

Mark Steyn will be off-air for a while as he has suffered two heart attacks recently. Mark Dolan and Patrick Christys will be covering throughout.

Which was nearly a month ago, Derek. Forgive me for missing it at the time - I only just saw it on MediaMole (from 2 days ago).

Here's hoping for a full and complete recovery.  Take as much time as he needs before returning.  Apparently the second heart attack was much more serious.
