Not sure I agree on this. Just tuned in and they’ve got an expert talking in detail about what’s been happening in Russia. I’m sure there’s still culture wars nonsense in the mix but you can’t deny they’re attempting to become a more serious channel and today’s changes are part of that.
Compared to what launched 2 years ago, it’s totally different.

Unfortunately the rest of the output is using the same package as launch, just been used for the programme title it seems.

The Live Desk.
Titles have a bit of a 'Live with Lucy Hockings' vibe about them.

I actually don't mind the straps and titles for Britain's Newsroom and The Live Desk.
What let's it down presentation wise is the studio.
That back screen wall and breakfast bar still look clumsy.
You would hope once the new Westminster facility is fished that they would tackle that funeral parlour waiting room look in Paddington.

If it was completely straight news slots, wouldn't they be able to dispense with the separate newsreader at the TOTH?

A nice refresh for their daytime output.
I actually think during breaking news and when they are actually doing news GBN put out a great effort on a limited budget, rivalling BBC & Sky in terms of coverage.
It’s a shame that the channel goes off the rails in the evening. But I suppose that’s what gets the numbers I am presuming.

I find the bulletins work quite well even in 'rolling news' mode. It's good to have a condensed look at the stories (though longer than a 'headlines' sequence) before going into them in more detail.
