GB News

I couldn’t think of two worse presenters than Emily Carver and Tom Harwood to appeal to the audiences that GB News are supposedly trying to appeal to.

Seems a role deliberately given to her to get her off the TV gig, as to continue would be a definite violation of all the agreements associated with such. Presumably her partner is unaffected by this though, so it's not a complete upheaval.

I doubt they'll appeal to the audience GB News is not appealing too either.

Sounds like her role in the cabinet is based on GB News's output. So no it won't

Christopher Hope stood in for Farage last night

EPGs appear to have been updated this afternoon showing Martin Daubney as the presenter for the time being of the Monday to Friday 3pm to 6pm slot. No mention was made of how this programme was to be covered in the schedule update released by GB News yesterday.
Mark Longhurst whilst it has been stated here has left is still listed on the website Presenter pages and his LinkedIn shows similar so a strange situation along with Pip Thomson now also being in limbo. Pip has been presenting across the schedule over the last few weeks including 12-3 and not simply been "dropped down" to reporting as was also suggested here a few weeks ago. There are a couple of programmes previously presented by Tom, Emily and Martin that may require a presenter and these may provide a landing for Pip. Not wanting to turn this into a presenter rota discussion which I am fully aware is frowned upon on this forum, some of the recent changes do not in my view strengthen the schedule and I am being drawn more towards Talk TV which with their changes has become a more interesting watch / listen. This is solely my personal view and comment.

And presented Jacob Rees-Mogg’s slot under the Farage banner even though Rees-Mogg was present throughout in the studio over the two shows.

What is even stranger is Richard Tice did the pre-News intro to Farage’s programme, despite only being a guest.

I think perhaps it was a worry about having serving politicians covering these programmes on a day of big political news.

Either way, Esther McVey has resolved the matter herself and has resigned from GB News.
