The big issue is they put out misleading and untrue statements regarding ratings which can be quickly debunked by just looking at the actual ratings. Then when they do get genuine victories the gloss is taken off them because of their previous lies - often a small win can end up looking like a big loss because they've tried to spin it as a big win.

‼️ Brilliant start to 2024 for The Camilla Tominey Show with another epic set of viewing figures. Average: 123,300; peak: 150,500; audience share: 2.51pc), trouncing @SkyNews (Trevor Phillips: ave: 82,400; peak: 91,600; as: 2.1pc; Sky News Today: ave: 104,100; peak: 104,800; as: 2.17pc). @GBNews beat @SkyNews in the ratings from 0645 to 1230 on Sunday. 👏(Figures: BARB)
If my show/channel was outperforming my main rival, I would shout it to the rooftops. And that's more than an occasional 15 minutes!
But then GBNews say they're not a News Channel so why do they compare their ratings to other News Channels?

They don’t say that. They literally refer to themselves as “Britain’s News Channel”.
They claim they’re not a rolling news channel, but I would argue the other two are not now either.

Either way, NONE of these viewing figures are great for a national audience compared to Regional news slots. Local BBC, for example, consistently get more viewers and a greater audience share.

Is see GBN is promoting a 'Supporters' club.
Bung them a few quid for some benefits.
My question, is this permissable under Ofcom Regs? I can't say I've ever read anything against this but does anyone know differently?

I seem to remember reading article it once against Ofcom rules, but that was changed at one point. It’s surely technically no different to ITV advertising their ITV X premium service. Apart from the fact the viewers get something meaningful out of it.
Not really sure why anyone would want to give money for something the Billionaires that own can fund out of their small change. Even if they do enjoy the content.

GB News has a new backdrop for their news bulletins. It's giving me 90s Sky News vibes, mixed in with the current ITV News backdrop.

Nothing says "disconnected" quite like a wall of monitors showing nothing but colour bars...
