I know I’m late to the party, but just watched Ep 104 which is the final one with the blue background Bon the end credits. For some reason the STV version shows the cast and crew credits in frames, a few at a time, rather than scrolling. The original TX and UK Living repeat had the usual scrolling credits. Perhaps they had to be remade due to tape damage? I can’t think of another reason.

That's happened a few times. Seems odd but perhaps you're right and they've had to be hastily recreated.

Quite a few episodes going up now with content warnings and pin protection, though there doesn't really seem to be much to justify it in most of those episodes.

One of the problems with having an actual close surrounded by trees as a set is that you have green leaves on trees well in to the winter. This was particularly noticeable in the scenes with the Christmas Tree and the gaggle of residents returning from a pre-Christmas trip to The Swan.

Love things like how excited Bobby was to have a digital watch with a stopwatch. Also the Marie and Father Christmas scene was brilliant.

I doubt it’s anyone from here who has been editing the Brookside IMDb pages, but whoever it is has changed the format of the first 97 episodes into “season” format, and added the titles and “episode in season” numbers -,but the remainder of the episodes are in the original “one season” format with their overall episode numbers.
Not sure if it’s a work in progress, but currently it’s a bit of a mess. Bearing in mind the seasons and titles are all unofficial (AFAIK) it would probably be better if the IMDb pages had been left as they were with official episode numbers (and TX dates). I’m very tempted to correct/revert these recent changes unless I’m stepping on anyone’s toes.

Seeing as STV Player seem to be lifting the episode descriptions straight from the old Brookside Soapbox, i hope they leave the one for episode 656 untouched 🤣
"Episode 656 (M 30-01-89 "A Bad Start") Written by Susan Pleat - Sheila is relieved that Barry won't be telling Bobby what he has discovered. Growler's first day at the remedial class goes badly, and Chrissy and Frank are so preoccupied with his problems that they don't notice Katie is now played by a different actress."

As well as STV Player being sponsored by McDonalds, STV Player's subtitles are now sponsored by Specsavers - they've even gone as far as to use a tagline which sounds awfully similar to the original iPlayer slogan!
