Isn’t TalkToday mainly news with a panel added for some opinions, which is basically what First Edition does?
Shame they can’t keep an evening news show, but it’s clearly not working… but then neither is The Talk. Mike is laughing going from generating 3 and a half hours a day down to just 1.

Surely it would make more sense to have The Talk at 7pm and Mike Graham for 2 hours from 9pm? Rosanna Lockwood then covering Nicola on Talk Today when she's on maternity leave.

With Mike doing two hours, that's direct competition for the GB News slot which has performed well under Dan Wootton before he was suspended.
If Rosanna is moving to breakfast to cover Nicola Thorp's maternity leave, that leaves The Talk to move to 7pm.

I think I'd much prefer Talk to reduce the length of Mike Graham's show to an hour and air something actually journalistic at 10pm. First Edition would probably fit more I feel than a revival of The News Desk, unless they bring it back for big interviews for e.g. a Boris Johnson or Rishi Sunak.
