Newsroom studios seem to be falling out of fashion worldwide and thats a real shame. Seeing a working newsroom behind the presenters
really adds something to news bulletins/channels.

Is CNN This Morning actually any different from New Day in editorial or production terms now they're down to two presenters and back in the old New Day studio?

Even when it launched the content didn't feel radically different - it was mainly the 3-way chat between the presenters and the different style of the studio that set it apart.

Instead it's been several underwhelming initial sets that have in the meantime been swapped around, changed, dumped etc so that in the end we have no idea what's the purpose or if there's any idea behind any of it.

Well. In some ways NY is the de facto global HQ.... but in other ways it's very much not. I don't think anyone has ever officially declared Hudson Yards as the new global HQ for CNN. That designation was never actually taken away from CNN Center.

So does any location inherit the global HQ title once CNN Center finally goes away for good? No idea.

Agreed! Even HBO’s The Newsroom had an on air newsroom behind Will McAvoy!

It’s poetic that CNN’s morning show is back to where it was a year ago, except with graphics that are a cheaper imitation of what they had, a set that’s dressed worse that it’s ever  been, and anchors that don’t feel as made for breakfast as any of the Berman/Co pairs before.

I hope that CNN’s next pivot back to the news means building a real newsroom set and using that as the flagship core of news gathering. Having CNN This Morning, the various CNNI shows, AC360, and Newsnight from a 21st century newsroom would be a good image for CNN. The place where you know Anderson Cooper is going to break big news from. The place that screams News while the competition screams partisan politics.

Oh, uh, back to reality…

Looks like this is it. Those newsroom days are seemingly done. At least from Atlanta. Sadly.

That's a bit dissapointing. They might as well rebrand as New Day whilst they are at it! They designed 19x really well for This Morning, now it just feels a bit all over the place with the bricks now.

I'm a fan of the bricks set, the old one and the new one, so I'm glad the morning show is back using it. Now if they would only let Quest back in....

Speaking of studios, The Situation Room is being done from Studio D again this week though it means the ridiculous sight of seeing Wolf start in a flash studio before moving to Studio D because they are still moving things around from The Lead. News Central has still being using A/B for their shows though.

May be they are rehearsing The Bulletin with Pamela Brown at that time, who knows...
