All of these domestic sets look the same - bland and uninspiring. New Day is the only one with a bit of character/distinction but even that is hardly seen on screen these days.

If anything it’s the New Day sets that needs the paintwork! It’s a simple reincarnation of what was at Columbus Circle. CNN had the perfect chance to overhaul that set but didn’t. If anything it’s far worse with a smaller desk looking terrible on air when there are 4 guests and 2 pres.

As for the others - they are 100% versatile and keep evolving - imo of course.

So many of the headlines and jokes people are making on Twitter make it clear that Toobin needed to go.

I think it's another 'pointer' that Keilar has in fact relocated to NYC.

With all the talk about a refreshed breakfast show I was fully expecting Brianna Keilar and/or John Berman to receive a new assignment. If Brianna has actually relocated to New York this could be a good indication that she’s staying on the breakfast show in some capacity.

We definitely had some interesting Sunday assignments yesterday with Brianna on SOTU and Kate Bolduan filling in for Pamela Brown’s CNN Newsroom. Usually weekend anchors cover for weekday anchors not the other way around.

Edit to add: And now we have Alisyn Camerota hosting CNN Tonight. The handoff with Don Lemon should send you back to 2014 when they both briefly double-headed CNN Tonight before Alisyn took over New Day during Kate Bolduan’s maternity leave.

Major Depatute at CNN as Brian Stelter is next to go. Reliable Sources is being axed as well with the last show happening this Sunday.

There will no doubt be glee from some Fox presenters at Brian Stelter's departure.

I'll miss the daily Reliable Sources newsletter but the navel gazing on cable news does get absurd when CNN do segments about Fox News segments about CNN and vice versa.

Ryan Nobles has also left CNN. Bit of a shame about this one, done some great reporting on Capitol Hill and was a good cover presenter when he did a few shifts for others.

Licht is doing a fine job so far in cleaning up the toxic mess Zucker created at CNN. Stelter was one of the best manifestations of that and needed to go! Hope Lemon is next.

It’s amazing that a few months ago Stelter was anchoring a daily show on CNN+ in addition to the now canned Sunday show. Quite remarkable what a change in management can bring. I always thought he could be a solid media critic; unfortunately, he frequently felt like an extension of the CNN Press team rarely casting the spotlight inward. Curious to see what replaces “Reliable Sources”. Quite frankly the SOTU and GPS replays are unnecessary in this day and age so there’s a lot of play in the Sunday schedule.

The SOTU and GPS replays are for West coast viewers, 12pm Eastern time been 9am Pacific time.

In terms of what could replace Reliable Sources, can only imagine given the newsier direction that CNN is going on, it maybe for the short replaced with another hour of Newsroom or filter repeats of Special Reports. Given that Chris Lincht is planning a new CNN Magazine show for Sunday you would think there is a possibility that it could take the 11am slot to replace Reliable Sources in the long term.

Speaking of programming, CNN have hired Ryan Kadro as head of programming to work on filling in a 9pm, the new Sunday shows and revamping New Day.
