No wonder ratings are where they are.

Generally though when ITV look for their own version of another hit show it doesn't end well.

This does sound different enough from The Traitors that it could work, the format sounds quite interesting.

They’ll need to be creative with the scheduling. I’m not sure it’s something that can launch out of Corrie. 8 episodes could possibly mean a Saturday to Saturday strip, launching out of Saturday Night Takeaway or BGT perhaps.

My Mum Your Dad sounds dreadful and to strip it over 2 weeks seems a risk. It feels like flop material.

So I didn't see it at all but did it do alright in the end and not flop?

It didn't seem to get beyond 1.4m. A complete misjudge from ITV about what viewers want.

The ratings didn't move but it was one of the most positively received programmes in a long time - I barely saw a bad word about it over the fortnight. Wasn't enough to make me watch it but I'd be surprised if it didn't return.

I guess it targeted a different demographic at a time when the rugby is dominant on the main channel.

Probably they will be happy if it held its audience.
