BBC/ITV East News

Look East didn't appear initially at 0627 instead BBC London then over half way through the news summary the volume was cut, then restored after which Look East appeared and we managed to see one story and the weather forecast.

Long serving BBC Look East reporter Mike Liggins  is leaving BBC East after 35 years.

The above article suggests that London Tonight was broadcasting in the mid 80s!

I'm sure Mike was at London Tonight in the 90s. I don't remember exactly but I'd have thought mid to late 90s.

I saw this so jumped on iplayer to see how they sent her off and there was nothing. I even checked the evening bulletin and not a word. Maybe thats how Louise wanted it (we can all remember the shock when Stewart left without any fuss) but when Kim Riley left they had s look back at his carer even did an interview with him. Having had a little moan would like to wish Louise all the best. A brilliant broadcaster. Who will forget the time she summed up the nations mood with that look!

Amelia did mention Louise leaving before the weather as Julie made a comment about the lunchtime forecasts never being the same.

There was also a brief montage of Louise presenting a late bulletin of Look East in the 1980s, Radio Norfolk and here receiving gifts in the newsroom after presenter her final programme today.

It must have been my scrolling skills on iplayer and i missed it. I was struggling to get to the bit before the weather. Don’t think my phone is too happy about being dropped

Refreshed Look East titles from today…. Yes, refreshed again after only a few months! More of the same locations but different angle shots. A superb swiping shot of The Forum at the end.
