Gary Lineker has alienated nearly half the audience, and the battle lines which have now appear is making so clear where people stand.
Trouble is Gary is also one of the highest paid people within the BBC on a Flagship show.... which means keep you mouth shout, because your going to hack off someone, and the BBC is for everyone, that what this is really all about.
Its going to overshadow everything..
I think that’s the case whether it’s in your contract or not, and that’s the end of it. It might mean you feel neutered on social media, but that’s the price you pay for working for the BBC. Emily Maitlis, as one example, decided she didn’t want to go along with that and quit. I’m sure others have come to the same decision.
It’s up to the individual, if they want to be outspoken or not (and leave the BBC if they do), at the end of the day.
