As on TV there's the advantage that the Euro matches aren't until 5pm and 8pm so any election coverage should be wrapped up.
Remember too that 5Live is well used to covering sport and news. It's easy to weave in any late results from counts into Wimbledon coverage. Big events like the PM going to the palace normally happen by lunchtime so just before play starts.
Of course I'm sure BBC bosses will be hoping for rain that day, although that's not the schedule free-er it once was!
Prominence of coverage of the football will depend on who's playing that evening, an England or Scotland match would never be relegated to Sports Extra. Again even if the government is undecided by then, it's unlikely there'll be any progress on Friday evening
