I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.
However it was made all those years ago - film, VT, what sort of film used or how it was telecined, it's irrelevant. Those who digitised it in the 21st century have no choice but to convert from PAL 576 24i to <whatever resolution> 50p, there's not really any other option and almost everyone watching will be doing so on a progressive display.
Be glad they're not having to convert to an American format as some platforms insist on
