This sounds like another case of one of the bigger radio groups threatening legal action over a name despite not necessarily having a leg to stand on, but then the small station in question capitulating straight away, simply to avoid any hassle.

There was quite a lot of this went on when stations were set up in the wake of Bauer's big takeover and GHR rollout. This Is The Coast in Scarborough was originally going to be called 'This Is The Yorkshire Coast', but Bauer objected, saying it was too similar to the former Yorkshire Coast Radio. In this case, I think they did them a favour, as the shorter, snappier name works better.
