Not sure about 2019 specifically but they certainly had had ads in the past in the early part of the coverage at least. Of course ITV has almost always been ad free and generally speaking the commercial channels are ad free after midnight anyway and can use their primetime quota up by 10pm, so it's only really the case of shifting their 11pm hour allocation to earlier in the day. Not sure if GMB and ITV's daytime coverage will akso be ad free.
I think what is a shame is we've basically got 4 or so options essentially doing the same thing. There isn't really an obvious choice to go to if you want your coverage focused more on one aspect (i.e. live results, rolling headlines etc.) Indeed not sure if Sky or the BBC have any plans for extra streams beyond the linear streams - think Sky had behind the scenes coverage in the past.
Didn't LBC do something a bit more innovative in a recent election? Seems to be a more straightforward affair this time.
