Imagine they'll be more early calls this time given the expected margins of victory, though maybe not so much in the key seats of interest.
Would have been great but sadly both elections during the shows stint on air were when the show was at it's lowest ebb - think Sharon Davies left the day after the 1997 election and in 2001 they were in the process of undoing the revamp of a few months earlier. Had elections fallen in 1993 and 1998 we may have got something more substantial, although of course part of the appeal of the show was it would be what to watch to avoid that kind of thing anyway.
Talking of election free zones nothing more than the 5 minute lunchtime update and 5pm hour long edition on 5 News tomorrow. Jeremy Vine is on but without Jeremy Vine given he'll be otherwise engaged.

A focus on reactions from real people, interviews with the likes of Count Binface and a down your doorstep angle would certainly be an alternative offering and might have gotten more younger people interested back in the day.
