And don't forget, ratings are down across the board. No show gets as many viewers as even five years ago, streamers have seen to that.

Lower audiences isn't just because of streamers. Shows can't last forever. There are tons of shows airing, some over a decade old, plodding along because the alternative is to replace them new shows that don't land right away, but that can be as much down to the quality and entertainment value of new shows rather than a lack of viewer loyalty or even "ratings are down across the board". The pandemic hastened the decline for shows because people had little option than but to watch them and I dare say it affected their enjoyment too.

Anyway, -1.5m for Ninja Warrior irrespective of what is on BBC1 is pathetic. It got axed for a reason.
