Political journalists are hard wired to shout questions that are never answered whenever they see a politician
I actually find that to be one of the most annoying activities by the journalists standing in Downing Street. It's not professional conduct and serves no purpose.

Sky's Darren McCaffrey turned up for the Conservative Party campaign launch, but was not welcome. It appears they put in place a pool camera arrangement and didn't want the Sky News correspondent there. Quite extraordinary to broadcast him being removed by the security staff though.

[Edit: I embedded a tweet but Sky News have since deleted it. I'm sure you can find some footage of Darren being ejected from the venue if you search for yourself.]

Wow! Darren McCaffrey of Sky News was thrown out of the Conservative campaign launch live on air for being unapproved!

How does something like this happen?

Presumably like much happening today, no one has a clue as to what is actually happening!

From the commentary Sophie gave, I understand it is to be one of these closed-door events with activists - to be broadcast but without questions taken from journalists. Unfortunately, we have seen a number of these made-for-telly events in previous elections too.

Fair play to Sky News for airing the whole incident though!

It's still happening. They went back to him half an hour later and he's being flanked by a security guard outside to make sure he doesn't try and get back in.

Talk about heavy handed security. Crikey!

Did Sky get an invite from the Tory Party HQ to attend this campaign event for the Tories?

Were any of the other media outlets allowed to attend the event?
