Considering the show is barely 2 years old (if that), have Challenge ever shown anything else that close to the original broadcast? Maybe they have and my memory is just poor.
The Crystal Maze was airing from close to the start wasn't it? That couldn't have been more than 2 years since original broadcast finished in the case of Series 6.

Of course, especially with Pointless which i had completely forgotten. I vaguely remember now the promos for it around the time Sky rebranded Challenge with the retro theme, doesn't feel like as long ago as 2011 though.

Series 6 was broadcast on Channel 4 in 1995, so when did Crystal Maze start on Challenge (TV)?

Somewhere around September 1998?
Pretty sure Channel 4 had dibs for a bit as they did do some summer repeats, though can't be sure if they were still doing this after 1995.

They usually ran morning repeats on The Bigger Breakfast over the summer holidays for a few years.
Up until then, there had been some midweek repeat runs at 6pm during the original run.
I forget if this applied just to the repeats or not but in later series at least, the credits were sometimes shortened (usually missing out the roller)

Yes, they ran in the summer holidays and certainly ran in the first year of The Bigger Breakfast in 1997.

Yes, I have some episodes from series 4 I taped that year.

Was just about to say 2011 was only a few years ago… then it hit me. It’s been 13 years.

Mad to think Sky have been calling the shots longer than Flextech/VMTV did now.
(Bit less still if you count The Family Channel tho)

Not sure what was going on today with today's airing of Crystal Maze, as they started on time and ran straight through to where the second break normally was - which was treated as the first one.
The show finished at 6:55, which is about two/three minutes short of where it finished yesterday... I suspect somebody's missed a flag or whatever it is on the programme to move to the adverts?
