The map today included Grantham, which I would have put into Hull's patch (or Look East), so perhaps not

The weather template for the combined Yorks, Lincs, NE&C weather bulletins were exactly the same as on Sunday night with Grantham being the furthest.
It was a mouthful for LN Leeds presenter Dave Edwards mentioning all of those regions this morning.

I didn’t see any Breakfast bulletins this morning but last night’s after the Ten was missing the northernmost parts of NE&C’s patch from the weather map.
Viewers in Alnwick or Berwick upon Tweed might have been a bit put out at not being included in the forecast.

The joint bulletins etc were to allow the commissioning of the new gallery in Newcastle over the weekend (same setup as Southampton). The lunch bulletin today had animating headline captions and better picture quality on studio cameras.

Does anyone know anything on a technical level about their new gallery or what they’re now using for their graphics?

And does this mean they'll now be in native HD on those platforms where BBC One NE&C HD is available (or will be soon)?

And as per the upgrade that Southampton got, they now have the amended closing music as well.

BBC1 NE should be in full HD now on Virginmedia and Sky Glass - plus Freesat/SKY in the next few weeks and Freeview by Easter. Alongside South, South West, London and North West who have been on Virgin/Sky Glass since last year. Just the rest of the Regions to go...

Is there a reason why the two appear to be linked?

Interesting that Newcastle hasn't got the new set at the same time as the gallery upgrade, is that because the size of the studio means that they can build the new one alongside (enough of) the current set (like they used to do in the olden days) without needing a decamp? Or the new one is small enough for Studio B?
