HM Queen Elizabeth Dies & Funeral Coverage

Gemporia's channels are off, and even TV Warehouse has decided to stop, despite their entirely recorded content.

The only shopping channels (barring the infomercial kind) running are the Hochanda-owned Create and Craft and Craft Extra.

Are the Hochanda channels ever live or is it just looped crap?

TJC came back on air with no reference to the day's events other than the black clothing worn by the presenter. A little while later, whilst showing off a necklace, she cut off her co-host off-camera to say "You're watching TJC..." as if she was about to say something else, after which they faded back to the slide. Very odd.

Imagine listening to the news on talkRADIO which would have sounded even more messy than it did on television.

It seems by this clip that Vanessa continued on talkRADIO and the coverage only split off for TV at that point

Together TV had an In Memoriam emblem in the corner this evening. Saw it just before 10pm. I have attached a picture from 11:50pm, when I was able to capture it.

I've also attached pictures of how the front page of NOW TV looked this evening, on the set top-box or whatever it's called. As you can see, they had some initial difficulty altering the listing on Sky Showcase, as an image of the episode of The Simpsons originally scheduled was showing up.

Apologies for potato quality.

To be expected, and I'd suggest it'll be the same over the weekend too.

The news as it unfolded in former colony Hong Kong, 9/9/2022. Under different time zones, it's approx. half past 1 in the morning when it broke out here. Here's how TVB News (HK's only 24/7 news channel by far) broke the news:
youtu.be

A much detailed tribute to the Queen on i-Cable News at half past 3, with a rare appearance of God Save the Queen at the end:
youtu.be

They followed that up with their UK correspondent in morning news (simulcast on FTA OpenTV), who interviewed a few Chinese people in Britain:

The Late Night News on NowTV/ViuTV on the event:

And the report during morning news:

Finally, a late RIP to the Queen. You'll be sorely missed.

Keeping an eye out of the beautiful somber countdown and family idents across BBC News, BBC World News and the networks today…

Wondering whether networks in HK will run special coverage of the funeral just like 25 years ago…
Last month TVB interrupted normal programming for US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan but today nothing on its main channels Jade and Pearl until the morning news…

Without getting too political here, the SAR government is actually playing down Hong Kong's colonial days in official narratives, so I doubt the coverage would be as extensive as in the old days (when Diana died just a month after the handover). There's also no special programme changes on the channels today.
