The next couple months has the potential to be slightly awkward for Talk TV, in particular Piers Morgan and his programme. The High Court trial involving Prince Harry and Mirror Group Newspapers begin.
Given that Piers was an editor around the time some of the alleged phone hacking took place it's likely he'll be directly or indirectly feature in the court case and/or coverage of it. It could result in the subject being 'an elephant in the room' in not being mentioned despite coverage elsewhere in the media, in order to avoid contempt of court and/or upsetting Piers.

Talk TV love the Meghan and Harry stories - they thrive on it, just in the same way GB News thrive on it - those two channels seem to be obsessed with Meghan and Harry to the point where it feels like it is becoming a fetish for them.

Equally Talk TV sharing an ownership with the Sun might be happy to cover their bitter rivals facing a court case.

Looks like one or several of the background screens in Talk TV's new studios aren't working in tonight's Piers Morgan Uncensored? Just a blank backdrop.

They won't because they need the Mirror to win the case. Only then would I suspect they go all out on coverage, but generally speaking TV covers the scandals in the press far less than the press try to make scndals out of issues in TV.

A snippet from the Rajar Radio figures suggests although the TV figures are dire it is perhaps acting as a loss leader to boost the emeadio share.
Quote:TalkRadio delivers a record reach of 840k up 38.2% quarter-on-quarter, with listening hours of 5.7m, up 20.9% quarter-on-quarter. In the year since TalkTV launched (April 2022) TalkRadio has grown reach by 29%

How do you compare Rajar reach with Barb reach?
TalkTV on TV
Jan 2.552m, Feb 2.257m, March 2.055m.
TalkTV on Radio
Quarterly One reach. 840k.
On the face of it the Radio figures are far worse, even allowing for the TV numbers dropping substantially each month.
April's TV figures dropped again to 1.425m!!!!

Yet, the radio figures will be regarded as good and the TV figures where they tend to concentrate on individual programmes won’t be.

Hours are down at TalkRadio, despite more people tuning in.
