Yes - curious that they had the emergency pres link (presumably a pre record?) and decided to go from that to a trail before what looks like an ident staring but being cut off by Newsround coming to air?
Looking at the schedule, CBBC ran a 10 minute show at 18:25 and were due to air their final show of the day at 18:35 - so was it just a case of lucky timings, or do we think they'd have cut a show off mid-way through to go to Newsround?

This is what I was looking for in case anyone is interested in it:

Newsround came in c. 6.35pm-ish. As you've seen from the clip above, there was a bit of a playout blip, with the Shaun the Sheep trail being left in the schedule, otherwise Newsround would've been on air a little quicker.
The con link felt pre-recorded. Almost sure exactly the same in-vision clip was used again.
CBBC uses the LIVE dog to determine what's live and what isn't (although it appears on news reports in Newsround as well which sort of sometimes gives the impression something bad is happening right now!)
Think for something like this there would be something generic really to go on the current set, though I remember when Archie Lyndhurst died, they did two links either side of an episode of the show he was in - one side of which was live (according to the DOG) and the other wasn't, though in fairness they couldn't have foreseen Lyndhurst dying so can't really prepare for that.

They didn’t decide to go to the trail, the trail shouldn’t have been there. There was a playout ‘blip’ (aka wrong item in the automation) so it went to the scheduled trail rather than Newsround at it was meant to have.

Now I see it full screen, I notice that Newsround used the incorrect HRH title on the screen graphic.

Picking up on that Telegraph article - if I was going to have one criticism of the coverage it was the fact that the BBC didn’t seem to show the hearse travelling from London to Windsor in full, they kept cutting to studio interviews. ITV stayed with the journey, doing interviews either out of vision or multi screen

The overnight ratings are now in, presumably the final figure will be higher.

I’d imagine so, especially when you take streaming into account. I find it difficult to believe that it got less viewers than the 2020 Euro Final last year.
