I don’t know how much that actually influenced the decision but it was certainly commented on a lot at the time.

In it, it was said that GB management felt they needed something like 25% neutral, straight news content in order to keep on Ofcom's good side, which is where the news bulletins came in.

however my question is this - why are all the ads of businesses in Wales and look a little too cheap n nasty for even ITV to show as local ads? The biggest name seems to be Sky (and IIRC they do GBN's ad sales, so that is not surprising)
