Happy New Year to you all! Here are the first channel rebrands of 2023 so far…

Hong Kong’s TVB Jade rebranded exactly at midnight, including the on screen appearance of the channel name for the first time in its history.

Russia’s TNT4 has also rebranded today with a modified and recoloured version of the THT diamond logo and graphics, replacing the circle 4 logo.

Also rebranded on the New Year: CCTV-3 Variety in China, retiring the Simplified Chinese wordmark with a new 3 symbol (that matches more with CCTV-4 and the newer corporate logo).

Turns out VRT 1 isn't the only one who's changing how it's called: Canal Uno in Colombia changed its vocal name to El 1, the common abbreviation of the channel, back in March with an updated branding.

I may have mentioned this before on the blue/purple places, but I've never failed to be amazed by the international channel pres of Al Jazeera.

I think their logo is actually an interpretation of the spelling of 'The Peninsula' in Arabic, which of course is the meaning of Al Jazeera.
