For such a popular show that has been running over 10 years I find it amazing that Australia is the first (and only) international export of the format
Although having said that I'll be interested to see how it works without Ben and his Tipping Point lingo / hugs!

Agree, it's not something I have looked into before - but that is a shock. I wonder if it's just too much of a 'British' thing? Are those arcade machines popular elsewhere?

Interesting there's a date attached? It's not very UK TV to give specific months in advanced, especially for daytime gameshows!

I would bet the Tipping Point lingo of riders and referring to the machine as she will remain!

I imagine the terribly slow pace of Tipping Point would have put off international broadcasters to start with. Now with the lack of ideas for gameshows kicking about, they are willing to take a second look.

Looks like the UK Jeopardy will simply be using the current US title sequence. The logo on the screens in the pic in the Metro article matches it.

According to this article, coin pusher machines like the one used on Tipping Point are popular in the UK and Japan, but banned in some US states, which would explain why there's never been a US version of the show!

Of all the issues with Tipping Point I wouldn't say pacing is one of them. It moves along quite swiftly compared to many formats. The UK version has been shown in Australia for a while so the lingo won't be unfamiliar.
As for Jeopardy UK - I just struggle to see it working TBH.

The Voice adding more bells and whistles then. Too little too late and shame they can't add them to the performances which is a singer songwriter dirgefest.

I don't see how the prize for the contestants makes the show any more entertaining for the viewer. It's not as if we get to go with them on holiday.

Wasn't the prize £100,000 previously?
