This was just a little minisode for Children in Need, which also had David Tennant in it.
Ah ok. Thanks. I really *want* to like Doctor Who, all the surrounding excitement is never held up by the actual episodes though. I always get utterly bored about 10 minutes in. They lack any sort of decent story and the acting is usually wooden as hell.

Sorry if I came across as rude, but I thought you were joking, as surely everyone knew of David's return as the doctor for the 60th.

I think it's at risk of suffering a bit of X Factor style fatigue now with a desperate need it appears to keep it in the news all year meaning none fans are sick of it long before the episodes actually air.
It's just not my thing to be honest - I've watched a couple of episodes which I've enjoyed in isolation (the Big Brother one, the Rosa Parks one) but it's not for me. Clearly loved by millions though - but how many millions is crucial. Surely the BBC are expecting a significant uplift for these specials at least given quite frankly the ratings for the Jodie Whitaker era - and indeed the end of the Peter Capaldi era - probably would have justified axing it.

I didn’t even know it was the 60th!

The promo tour begins.
There was some suggestions that there was little interviews etc. planned due to the (now finished) American actors strike, hence no Graham Norton Show appearance this coming Friday. Not sure how exactly that was the case with it being a show filmed in Britain for a British broadcaster first and foremost.

David said he was unable to talk about Doctor Who on the Last Leg on Friday night due to the strikes, not sure if he was playing it safe tperhaps as I don't think anything has changed from SAG-AFRTA since then

Well that was a BS answer, as the actors strike is now over, a settlement deal has been reached

Was it pre-recorded earlier in the week? That would explain it.

It was a live show and they mentioned the strike being over, I don’t think he went into details due to sharing any information rather than being prevented on doing so.
