ITV’s This Morning - September 2023 onwards

The show moving on from Phil and Holly isn’t a bad thing- indeed I’d argue it’s long overdue. The only issue is that neither of the regular female presenters (Alison and Josie) are strong enough for the main role- I think they struggle when it comes to fronting the more serious stuff.

The promo on today’s show revealed that it’s Dermot, Alison & Josie doing the Christmas Day show.

Really unsure when they recorded that, considering Josie’s been away for weeks & Alison hasn’t been on at all this month as she’s been doing her Panto.

Alison didn't start panto until December 16th so I would guess they recorded it on Monday given they have Mondays off at the Birmingham Hippodrome;

Back to the same bodge job of a titles sequence today... I'm not calling for a complete overhaul, but you'd think they could create a few new scenes that look a bit better

Yes, that felt a real step back after the gorgeous Christmas presentation. You would think they'd want to drop the look so associated with Holly and Phil ASAP but guess they'll hold off until a more permanent hosting arrangement is in place.

Rylan is getting used a lot lately - possibly the most used host since Holly left. I quite like him with Josie, but wasn't a fan at all of Rylan and Emma as a duo.

The issue when you base an opening sequence on presenters though - talk tvs talk today has the presenters Jeremy Kyle and nicola thorp in the opening titles so within the laws based around maternity they will be playing the titles with her in it even though she won't be there which would be a bit weird but there in lies a problem

I noticed this week a bit of colour added to the kitchen in the form of blues and teals. And the wooden panelling that was only recently added to the front of the kitchen has already been removed as well already.I noticed this week a bit of colour added to the kitchen in the form of blues and teals.

The brick wall seems to have been repainted to white as well, however the pink bar stools have remained

I've also noticed the new "This Morning View" graphic has switched to the blues/teals colour scheme as well. I could be wrong but hasn't one of the walls in the Phone-in Room when they've had a camera in there gone from white to blue/teal with the logo in white?

It feels to me, although I could be wrong, that these subtle tweaks we've seen this week are the start.

I was hoping they might begin to move away from the teal look - if anything they're doubling down on it.
