I enjoyed it! Staying true to the original format is what has helped this immensely, the same could not be said to recent ITV revivals.
Few niggles however. I’m not sure Bradley and Barney Walsh are the right hosts for it. It could have done with a female counterpart, probably more so paired with Barney than Bradley. Alex Scott springs to mind.
Sheffield Arena is noticeably smaller than the NIA in Birmingham. And you can tell, especially with Eliminator which now only has one trapeze instead of two. So it’s less of a challenge.
And I’m very happy they brought back the original theme, but less happy the original incidental music did not, replaced with generic remixes of old pop music. The energy and flow of the show did suffer a bit and it didn’t make it seem as exciting.
To demonstrate this, there was something I just HAD to do:

Rather enjoyed it!
Thought Barney was clearly nervous at first but he eased into it well. Brad was just Brad. Solid enough as a duo though.
The titles weren’t great. Just felt a bit flat.
Overall though a triumph.

Nostalgia aside, it's amazing how much more energy that music gives the event. A testament to how brilliant the original music was.

I also noticed the start of the Travelator had a small bit which wasn't actually rotating. The conveyor belt didn't actually go all the way to the floor, so the contestant ran onto the angled up bit, which wasn't actually moving, before actually running against the direction of flow. Whether this is for health and safety to let the contestant balance themselves and establish their speed & angle of attack before travelling up. I'm sure this wasn't present in the original. Hence, the actual Travelator wouldn't have been as long as in the LWT days. Gauntlet also, didn't seem to have that length. Otherwise, as I said, brilliant!

Yes, the Eliminator in particular needs something resembling its original music back.

Looking at ITV guidelines this would be 46 minutes of editorial running time for an hour slot. By contrast the BBC guidelines for an hour appears to be 58 minutes.
I suspect an ITV revival would be 75-90 minutes and the complaints about the ad breaks would come thick and fast.
Any ratings news yet?

So let's replace one over exposed presenter with another?

Wow. That's what happens when you reboot a show right. Just think of the grand scale of disappointment had it been given the Wheel of Fortune treatment.

Amazing especially when Bradley mentioned on The One Show that originally they had only planned it as a one off!

Great ratings - much deserved and shows 2-3m shouldn't just be accepted as the norm.

Her only regular gig is a lunchtime football show.
Bradley and Barney seemed so obviously wrong for the show in the first few minutes but grew into it throughout the episode. I suspect Bradley may step back in the future though and Barney get a female co-host.
Trying to think of other potential hosts who I think would work well and I landed on Jordan North and Vick Hope.
