Wipeout with Bob Monkhouse had canned laughter and applause. Have I Got News For You has a distinct male laugh which appears every now and then and even a snigger which I think is Angus. I have heard a laugh repeated about a dozen times in later episodes of Still Game, which is not surprising given that they were garbage. It's obviously to create a better product as well as helping the edit.

It's not a spin-off to The Traitors, it's a entirely new show by Stellify.

Not sure if it's daytime though, could easily be stripped over 2-3 weeks.

As for The Chosen Ten, the TV Zone article hints at a quiz show and ten different contestants per day but a description elsewhere says it is just one contestant answering just one question per day so most of the show will be a group of people deciding who to put forward, so a reality show basically.

This BBC NI and BBC network entertainment pilot from Stellify Media is pitched as a ‘cutthroat’ reality gameshow in which ‘only those with the right amount of intelligence, trust and passion will succeed’. Fifteen contestants must spend 10 days together using their wit and guile to decide which contestant will answer a different question each day on a given topic. Those chosen become ‘the Candidates’ to and the remaining contestants must vote for to the best person to answer the question to add to the prize fund. But with bluffers in the mix and incorrect answers bringing forth the ‘money drain’ there are high-stakes and jeopardy right to the end.

I noticed the applause used during the credits of The Jonathan Ross Show is actually canned, and they’ve been using the same one for at least 3 series now. Family Fortunes has been doing the same and it’s way more noticeable.

Are there any more shows guilty of this and why do they do it?

Pretending they have an audience when they don't, like the above Wipeout example?

That Wipeout one's exceptionally ridiculous, as about a third of an audience seemingly have a wall in front of them, so wouldn't have been able to see if they actually did exist.
