CNN International will air special coverage of the United Kingdom’s general election, starting at 9:55pm BST on Thursday July 4 just as polls are about to close.

Richard Quest and Isa Soares will lead the network’s special on-air coverage from CNN’s London studio, providing insights and analysis of the key races and voting trends as the night unfolds.

Joining them in studio will be Anna Stewart, who will track the numbers as votes are counted using an interactive 3D visualization, giving viewers a dynamic display of real-time data for each constituency.

Salma Abdelaziz and Clare Sebastian will report throughout the night from various locations across London.

As results come in during the early hours of Friday July 5, Max Foster will continue anchoring CNN’s special coverage from outside the Houses of Parliament, with Nic Robertson reporting live from Downing Street.

In addition, CNN Digital will provide real-time results on the CNN.com homepage as well as a live blog giving users access to the news, analysis and reaction to election night results.

Surprised they aren't doing some of the coverage from a studio in either New York or Atlanta as well. Like with the BBC's coverage on BBC World News, I'm assuming British expats living in the US, Australia etc will be able to watch the CNN coverage?

Can't be any worse than in 2019 when they had to start late due to some Trump news that cut into the GE coverage start time!

Excited to see how the London studio will be looking for the coverage!

And let's face it... If Trump even so much as breaks wind on the day, they will cut away from the coverage to bring us the breaking news!

With July 4th being a major holiday in the US any UK coverage from the US is very unlikely. CNN will probably have a July 4th spectacle show from 6 or 7pm onwards, so the fact that Max Foster will be anchoring late into the night should be considered a win!

Ouch, so the first part of the UK Election special will be just... 2 hours (+5 minutes) long? The Fourth in America starts at 7p ET = midnight BST and is going to last for 6 hours straight, till 1am ET = 6am BST. Or will CNNI opt in later?

Also, Max Foster doing the early hours - one wonders if that means 1-5am ET (i.e. 6-10am BST)... We know Max can handle 4 hours of coverage (like he did on the first day of this year) but it seems unwise to first have two anchors for only two hours and then single anchor do 4 hours straight. Unless they expect almost everything to be settled in that first two crucial hours!

Meanwhile, Richard Quest is already in London to cover the final stages of the campaign and he, like nobody else, made good use of the studio - he was at the vertical screen, at the long wall and even at the smaller "magic wall" screen that rarely gets used. I think the only place he didn't use today was the balcony Big Grin

Poor Richard must be thrilled to be able to use a proper studio again. Wish he would move back to London.

Something tells me that the "old timers" are seeing out their contracts or staying out of loyalty. Especially those presenters that have been in Atlanta for decades. Raised their children there and lives are clearly established there. Its hard to pick up and move all the way back to Australia or something. Its interesting all the defections they had a few years back. And CNNI hasnt really rebuilt their presenter or international correspondent line-up. So their global audience clearly isnt a priority. But they still want to have just enough people in the field to have the bare mimimum. But its certainly not like their golden days.

Looks like CNN have set up a stage in front of the historic Techwood Country Club. I’d guess this is for the pre and post debate coverage.

Techwood Country Club??? Not sure what you mean by that.

Anyway — that branding is on Georgia Tech’s basketball stadium — McCamish Pavilion. Also an event space like for graduations and such.

Is that just branding/advertising or will anything actually be hosted there? No idea. That’s across the street from Techwood, not actually part of the campus itself — it’s part of Georgia Tech.
