In the past they have cut to and from news events and carried on with the show, just didn't flow. I don't see a regular watcher would really want all the politics. I'm 33 and I remember when 9/11 happened, they regularly said on the breaking news that other programming was on ITV2, along with it being on the ticker (I was annoyed as I didn't have digital), so in that sense it isn't hard.

It looks as if This Morning we’re in today recording something for Christmas (I presume the Christmas Day show) as Schofe posted an Instagram story from a dressing room, then I’ve seen that Ben Shephard uploaded this post:

that used the GMB set when Studio 3 was in This Morning more, as you can see the large screen is showing a section of the This Morning background with lights in the trees, and the weather & news screens are showing the This Morning logo with Holly icon next to it.
If they’ve decorated the studio for Christmas for the special, what will happen for Friday’s live show? Will they launch Christmas early with Alison & Dermot? Or will they do something clever such as a Friday programme from the This Morning forest before launching Christmas (a couple of days early) with Phil & Holly on Tuesday? …We’ll find out tomorrow.

To answer the question of where the show is coming from today, they are using the rooftop space of The Broadcaster bar just outside Television Centre, which they've used for features every now and then in the past few months, framing it as going to the pub to celebrate the England v USA match later today.

Can't help but think the bar setup is very Morning Live. Looks quite nice I think.
What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

Perhaps they’re filming Christmas segments in the studio and, hence, decamping for a few days, as suggested in a few posts above.
