Maybe a small change, but I can't foresee anything seismic. After all, similar predictions were made about the 2015 schedule changes, but came to nothing.
The fundamentals aren't changing - it's still news from the BBC - and, at first glance, there will be little noticeable difference for the general viewer. Although there will presumably be more international news, they've hardly been reluctant to show major and breaking UK news during the interim period when it had to be shown on World too, I'd be very surprised if they are less likely to cover such stories now they don't have to show them internationally. For UK viewers, it'll still have major UK and international news - just like they'd expect from the BBC.
I don't think anybody here is under any illusions about the unideal nature of the situation or the difficulties of serving a domestic and international audience at the same time. But there are workable solutions and maybe they'll have found one that works enough. Ultimately, I'd be more worried about international viewers turning off if it's too parochial.
