I'm a big fan of Fiona Foster. I was surprised when she turned up at ITV News after the manner in which she was axed from LNN, but was not surprised at the fact her tenure was super short lived.

She was a reporter for Tonight with Trevor McDonald at the time. Wasn't that made at ITN? If so I imagine it might have been a case of her being in the building and them needing someone capable to present the news at fairly short notice. Remind me - why was she axed from LNN?

I always thought Anna Maria Ashe would have been good on the national bulletins, but sadly it was not to be (probably because she came from a continuity background, rather than journalism).

I'd always thought 'Tonight' was an itv studios production.
