I'm not sure whether the Glasgow work would be done by the same team - BBC Scotland is a bit different in capability to the average English region and I believe that it was mentioned that they'll be out for a bit longer as there was more than just a set change taking place. Based on our assumptions, the Nottingham team moved to Hull the following week - so we'd assume the Birmingham team is now moving the temporary set to another English region for start next week.
I'd also be a little surprised if any work in Jersey was being done by a mainland team, seems a bit of an expense. I think you're right to be sceptical of an LED set-up - I think there are limits to how close cameras can be to those kinds of screens. But I really do not think a regional CSO set-up would be any good, especially not with the kind of facilities they have in Jersey - not just would I expect a lot of dodgy angles and poor-quality fake sets, but you do actually need a bit of space for CSO to work properly. Standard CSO set-ups require the lighting to create a consistent colour and eliminate any shadows, which would be a bit tricky in a space that isn't exactly studio quality in terms of space or technical capabilities. You could try a rear-lit CSO set-up, as per the weather studios at NBH, but I'm not sure whether that can work in 3D.
