Huw is back on air

Probably the biggest sign yet that something is coming, and not at 18:00 as some had predicted.
Either Huw was taken off air to be briefed of her death and how it was to be broken or he was meant to be preparing for the six but the most recent developments have meant he had to get back on air sooner.

Or just to give him a bit of a break for a wee and a cuppa

Given the nature of events I doubt there will be an "actual" News at Six tonight... it'll probably be like the NaO this afternoon, a simple fade into the studio greeting viewers and continuing with rolling coverage, there won't be any prepared packages~

Studio E is a much better studio for coverage like this, it’s hardly likely that Huw would be striding all over the place with reporters using touch screens, so they’d be at the desk in the corner of B which wouldn’t look great

Masterchef is off because one of the tasks was platinum Jubilee related.

The semi-finals continue as culinary icon Mary Berry tasks seven remaining celebrity cooks to recreate one of her favourite and delicious signature classic recipes. They have to master unfamiliar ingredients and techniques to impress John Torode, Gregg Wallace and Mary herself. Then, after cooking for culinary royalty, they have to cook a dish dedicated to Her Majesty the Queen in celebration of this year's Platinum Jubilee. No one can afford to slip up as at the end of this challenge, one more celebrity will leave the contest.
