They say they don't know if the soaps are on, but if there's a special programme at 8.30pm, isn't that when Corrie should be on (Emmerdale was meant to be an hour long tomorrow because of Tuesday's football, and so was today's cancelled episode as normal for a Thursday)? So it does look like the soaps are off.

Yeah, they're already going to be an hour of Corrie and two of Emmerdale behind just missing those two days. If they're off air next week as well...

Channel 4's programme at 11pm began after a respectful announcement. But only 30 seconds later - mid title-card - the channel went to a break with a couple of trailers (and the DOG faded out), only to return mid title-card and the programme resumed.

They went off air shortly after the announcement was made. I caught that slide around 7pm.

It's something they'll have been prepared from literally since day one.

One interesting thing is that apart from the BBC, no other broadcaster in the UK has ever handled a change of monarch. ITV was still over 3 years away last time, ILR was over 20 years away, Sky News was the best part of 40 years away- it's all new territory for them. It reminds you just how long she was queen.

Not only in the UK, when her reign began back in 1952, many countries all across the world did not even have any sort of television service

Well, I did say "broadcaster", not just television.

I understand the plan is for BBC Two to return from 6am tomorrow, but will be mostly showing the planned daytime BBC One schedule and also things like the episode of EastEnders that was due to be shown this evening.

BBC One will obviously not be back to anything close to normal for a very long time.

They ought to keep this banner for the rest of the time (not with that story), would be good for top stories. Looks nice.

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.
