But what was the deal with the curtain they used when Newsnight was camping out in E, it was hinted that it was for obit use, but was it really just for added privacy in rehearsals?

The cafe and reception blinds were what I was talking about.

As far as I know the Newsnight curtain thing was for Newsnight. Hence it was in Newsnight colour

Lovely ending screen at the end of Newsround at 8:00. [Image: Screenshot_20220909-080730_BBC%20iPlayer.jpg]

Not that I'm saying it's wrong, but what makes UploadTV (whatever that is) an authoritative source worth taking notice of?

I'm pretty sure the curtain was always part of the set, it's not the kind of thing you are going to rig during a pandemic with absolute minimal staffing?

On a separate note the BBC radio stations dropped out of the special coverage at either 6.00, 6.30 or 7.00. The music networks typically playing slower, reflective tracks back to back with occasional links.

Just had a flick through the main FM stations in NI - all on slower music like the national services.

I've noticed very few are broadcasting their regular RDS - Q Radio are, but Downtown for example is just transmitting "This Is Downtown Radio" - I see the national services are the same.

Any ideas why that would be, presumably related to being on a specific 'obit' playlist?

Currently, CBeebies and CBBC haven't broadcast any in vision continuity links so far today apart from CBBC using a pre-recorded link telling viewers to head to the Newsround website for a important news update. Understandable considering the circumstances.

If it's pre-compiled rather than being played out from there playout system as individual tracks the track data may not be available?

Sky Showcase and Sky Sports News are continuing to simulcast Sky News. Sky Sports Racing was doing the same yesterday but is back today.

The Channel 4 owned music channels are running a basic music schedule now too - It's labelled as Non-Stop <channel> e.g. Non-Stop The Box. EPG shows this starting at 2pm but it's actually running now. All music channels are now in special programming.

The BBC has said that Last Night of the Proms tomorrow has been cancelled as a mark of respect.

Radio X are still broadcasting the Chris Moyles show, but very muted, with just Chris talking in between records about how surreal the news is, and they're playing chilled music in their format (which I'm quite enjoying actually)

What I've heard since I've been listening

Embrace - Gravity
Air - All I Need
The Verve - Sonnet
Rolling Stones - Wild Horses
