I have had a complaint about my use of Mixcloud. I understand that it might not be everyone's favourite, but it's the easiest place for me to upload these extended captures. I have made the decision to upload from mid-morning to later into the evening (when possible) to preserve both how news bulletins cover the story and any changes made in the leadup to the announcement of the death. If you don't like the inflexibility of Mixcloud's scrubbing options, then feel free to find a way to download the audio and use a player of your choice.

More stations will be uploaded in the coming days as time permits.

Watching the BBC News currently - I noticed that, during the report on William and Harry, the number plate of the vehicle was hidden. But the footage played out again just now during a discussion in studio, and the number plate was clearly visible... I'm not sure of the implications of that, but presumably they obscure it for a reason?

For what it's worth, this is how I broke the news on Cambridge 105 Radio.

I've been on holiday and was broadcasting from my chalet. I was the only available senior presenter able to get on the air that evening to take over. Our Obit procedure worked like clockwork though.

Never felt so nervous in all my life, especially the initial announcement which I was saying to myself I couldn't mess up... thankfully I didn't.

ITV making good use of picture in picture.

I gave up on BBC and stuck with ITV because of that. ITV had a much better historian too.

Just seen a bit of the documentary that ITV are showing, just said that the 1969 Royal Family documentary was shown "once, and only once". That's some top notch research there....

I can find of at least 6 occasions it was broadcast (the original BBC1 screening, repeated on ITV the next week, again on both BBC1 and 2 on Christmas day 1969 and showings on BBC2 in 1971, 72 and 77). May well even be more occasions I couldn't find, especially as ITV schedules aren't easily available in the way the BBCs are, but even 6 showings over an 8 year period is a lot more than "only once".

While it indeed was put into the vaults after that and they've refused any more than short clips to be shown since, that's still a lot more than the once that they claimed.

Just to say, you're not the only one who noticed. I thought they'd been taking pictures or video of a feed screen (perhaps the dark slide?) but it could well have been selfies. It wasn't great.

According to a tweet I saw earlier, they got told off for it.

I wonder if it means future documentries will use the initial announcement, rather than the "news report" version, as surely the people behind Huw on their phones is going to look terrible.
