HM Queen Elizabeth Dies & Funeral Coverage

Very good seamless handover from Huw Edwards and Fergal Keane at Westminster Abbey to Kirsty Young and David Dimbleby at Windsor during the pre-2pm junction on the BBC.

All of the major American networks and cable channels (ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC) carried the service and procession using quite large on screen graphics. BBC America, BBC World News, and PBS all carried the BBC broadcast which has been exceptional. Huw’s commentary and the lack of on-screen graphics allowed the gravity of this moment to sink in and felt much more respectful of the situation.

Always strange seeing Kirsty Young on the BBC, I still assosiate her with Channel 5, even if she hasn't been there for a long time.

Indeed you are not only one, I keep forgetting that she was at ITV in the early 2000's.

ITV opting to take more pictures of the drive to Windsor than the BBC who are doing more interviews in the studio.

I've found myself drawn to ITV's coverage over the last couple of weeks, but I have to say the BBC's coverage today has been outstanding and everything I hoped it would be - right down to the location of its studios.

I think starting off with Huw in Westminster and then handing over to Kirsty in Windsor was a great decision, as it's meant they've always been at the heart of the day's events.

I like the seamless transitions between presenter and commentator throughout the day too.

On a separate note, I see there's a third studio next to the BBC's and ITV's at Windsor. Is that Sky?

Yes Sky have a studio at Windsor, it was shown yesterday. Dermot Murnaghan is the presenter at Windsor.

Anderson Cooper and Max Foster are at Balmoral with Anna Stewart and Bianca Nobilo. Great coverage from CNN

NBC's studio in Westminster...

I wonder if the black structure over Lester Holt's shoulder is the BBC's studio.

Got to give kudos to the signers for deaf viewers who have been doing a sterling job on BBC Two all day.
