Euronews

I have just recently discovered that the overnights feeds of Euronews now officially broadcast in Full HD on the HD versions of RTÉ One and RTÉ2 in The Republic of Ireland. I have to admit here that the HD picture is a really good upgrade from the SD feed that it had before.

I just want to ask are there any official plans to provide Euronews HD for satellite viewers in the UK & Ireland soon?

Recently Euronews has changed its ident during programmes and the news ticker is gone (during programmes). There's now a square transparent logo. Intros have been changed too. They're shorter.

So that's the end of the famous Euronews on-screen clock with only the minutes?

There is no change in look for the Euronews news bulletins. The ticker is still there along with the on-screen clock with only the minutes.

I only saw the new transparent Euronews logo on a programme called Global Conversation during the RTÉ One simulcast last night.

I wonder would there be any more changes to the output of Euronews over the next while which would include a HD version of the channel for Sky and Freesat users in the UK?

I've seen this "look" and I don't rate it. I like that they've dropped the ticker and their enormous graphics during non-news programmes but to me, the logo where it is, is social media safe so it can be put in to a 1080x1920 reel on Facebook / Instagram / YouTube and still have their logo prominent.

If anything, it would be nice if EuroNews moved their logo to the far right hand corner of the screen or keep it bottom left without the banner behind it.

A new look on Euronews English/French:
twitter.com

The sidebar looks very Windows Vista to me, not gonna lie Big Grin Otherwise a really good job in the flattened headlines, as the old ones aged even worse than CNN's.

I kinda like the new EuroNews look. Its certainly different, its not a bad thing. I dont mind the twitter feed on the right. I dont know how current or updated it is though. I like the stacked logo and the new full screen animations. And I like that the headline appears in the centre of the screen before going away. I do think the time and temp box with Euro News logo can be shrunken and then it all all fit neatly over the twitter stream on the right instead of the EuroNews logo protruding out into the video. Thats my only criticism. I like they are doing something new and fresh. Its not perfect but it fresh looking.

Looks like weather reports still need to be done.
