(Prefaced with an apology to those who like to refer to series by number, but with the reboot in 2005 plus the various regenerations of both showrunner and Doctor I get confuse so.......)
I tend to think of Doctor Who in terms of Companion rather than Doctor as I find it easier; for me Companions tend to mark the beginning and end of stories whereas a Doctor has multiple stories, if that makes sense?
So since 2005 I've enjoyed the Martha Jones and Donna Noble stories with David Tennant's Doctor, and the Amy & Rory Pond and Clara Oswald stories with Matt Smith's Doctor. The rest I've taken a passing interest in but have never felt particularly invested in (so basically the Rose Tyler story or anything involving either Peter Capaldi or Jodie Whittaker).
I don't know what it is but for the first time in a long time this has me excited. Like properly set-the-reminder excited. Possibly it's the reunion of Tennant, Tate and Davies but for the first time in a long time (maybe since The Day Of The Doctor) this trailer makes Doctor Who feel like an 'event'. I can't wait.
