There are two issues here. Firstly, I think there would be a very difficult case to make that a presenter is a 'sitting tenant' in a role with Breakfast if they have, for example, been a shift presenter for the News Channel. Contracts will vary but critically the nature of the roll is different as well. Secondly, it depends on the redundancy package. Some have taken voluntary which restricts their future options (but contains a nice buy out).
All of this said, there is a nice opportunity to use Breakfast in a way in which staff *could* move up, very much akin to how it initially operated with the move from London.
