Sounds like a fun place to work.

The new "The Daily Report with John Dickerson" started, I wish they had found away to use the newsroom for it instead of just the intro.

We now have a full video of the Early Today relaunch. I'm glad to see they're starting to synergise things a bit more at NBC News.

Her opening line seems bizarre to me... "Good morning, glad you're with me". Are we supposed to think she prepared that programme all by herself? Just seems a little disrespectful towards her co-workers.

Sorry for the side note Angel

WXYZ in Detroit retired their longtime Action News brand for... 7 News Detroit. It seems they updated their headline graphics too, in gradient parallelograms instead of the usual boxes:

I had to stop and read this three times it's such an unexpected comment.

In no way, in any scenario on any broadcaster in the world is it "disrespectful to coworkers" that she said glad you're with me. It's probably the best, most human way to great a viewer.

All effective media is one-to-one, she's a solo host on camera at that point. More people should talk in the singular like this on TV

The American news networks continue to find ways to utilize technology and innovate to air programming that have no visuals. Such as the very relevant Supreme Court hearing on Presidential Immunity. MSNBC will use its VR tech to create a virtual Supreme Court. Virtually moving the camera around the court room and pointing the "camera" at the person speaking and using overhead "jib" shots. This mixed with visuals from MSNBC HQ and its video walls. What could have been a visually boring event, as the Supreme Court bans live video feed from the court. Interesting use of modern technology.

THIS IS VERY INTERESTING....(well too me)

Quote:By the way, Greenstein says, motion-capture technology that could animate mouths that move along with actual words being spoken is available, but “that might be a bridge too far.”

Little tidbit from NBC Universal. It appears that NBC is halving the space they use at the NBC Tower in Chicago. So the 2 big studios for national productions the cramped combined newsrooms for the Telemundo and NBC affiliates as well as the NBC News Midwest Bureau and likely NBC/Telemundo Midwest Sales operations will be reduced further. There was rumbling that NBC was going to build a new expansive newsroom to accommodate both stations on the upper floors. The NBC Tower was was originally built to house only the NBC affiliate with an newsroom set on the 1st floor with the national productions studios. But, then like other NBC O&Os they rammed the Telemundo operation into the same space. But unlike the other locations, they all most got new expansive studios and newsrooms. But the NBC Tower didnt get any such updates. The NBC Affiliate recently got a new set. The NBC Tower was already cramped and is even more so. So reducing the space seems as though any renovations will not happen.

Another reason why WGN Morning News is quite possibly the best local morning news programme anywhere. Smile
Context: Nextstar is the company that now owns WGN. Its used to be locally own by the Tribune Broadcasting Co which also owned the Chicago Tribune Newspaper which also owned LA Times and NY Daily News and hundreds of other papers and also hundreds of other tv stations coast to coast like KTLA -LA and WPIX -NYC. Seems like they are still annoyed.
