Some stations like WBZ, WCCO, KDKA have a stronger brand and don't use CBS 4 or 2 in KDKA's place and the CBS name is really minimal so having them keep their call letter branding would make more sense. (That are they good preforming stations) Does make me wonder if KYW in Philadelphia might end up keeping their "Eyewitness News" name after all, but not the CBS3 part. I do at least like they understand each market is different.
Tidbits:
[*]Branding will be assigned in a market-to-market basis, with some stations going for the call letters (KPIX and KCAL), others retaining their existing brands and other going with the streaming network brand
[*]New graphics mean also a switch to new Chyron Prime workflows
[*]CBS management is helping stations how to use new graphics and music for their content
[*]The package will be syndicated to non-CBS O&Os in the future

It was smart to keep KCAL's name, but shed KCBS' if they had to choose only one they chose the right one , the one that's more noted in the market.
