Another ABC News talent is leaving the Alphabet: Cecilia Vega is joining the one-and-only 60 Minutes.

TVNewsTalk.net insiders are reporting CBS News Detroit's launch is expected for next week. Some weeks ago, industry source FTVLive/Scott Jones was reporting (in a Patreon members post) that CBS was internally discussing, due to some technical issues, to postpone the launch for next month. Still, the launch expected for next week would be a soft launch, as promotion is well underway and more promotion of the new offering is expected for the months to come.
Anchor Rachelle Graham has also posted on her Instagram that dry runs and full-flown rehearsals are underway. Graham will anchor on weekend evenings with Terell Bailey. Both Graham and Bailey come from Sinclair stations in nearby Flint (WEYI/WSMH) and Macon (WGXA), respectively. It also allows to get a closer look at their newsroom studio, which was designed by FX Design Group.

[*]Shaina Humphries (from WFXT) and Jeff Skversky (from WPVI) will anchor weekday evenings
[*]Jordan Burrows (from Turner Sports) and Lauren Winfrey (from WCAU) will anchor the weekend morning show, and will do community reporting
[*]Ahmad Bajjey (from WEYI/WSMH) will serve as Next Weather chief meteorologist, with First Forecast holdover Karen Carter and Kylee Miller (from WHNS) rounding up the weather team
[*]Ronnie Duncan, father of CBS News national correspondent Jericka Duncan and accomplished sports broadcaster, joins as Sports Director from WFXT
[*]Amyre Makupson, whose mother was a longtime anchor at WKBD, joins from WGXA and will take a position as Executive Producer Impacting Communities (EPIC), focusing on community-first special projects
[*]Carol Cain, presenter of Michigan Matters, is being retained as public affairs presenter
[*]13 reporters will be based in and around Detroit, including nearby Flint and Lansing, where a State Capitol reporter position will be placed
When it launches, the new operation will carry the new CBS O&O graphics and music. KCAL creative services director Erik Candiani (he masterminded the WJZY Queen City News relaunch) has been assisting WWJ/WKBD in the creative part of the launch, and Beau Weaver has been contracted as the station's voiceover artist.
