NewscastStudio has done a quite lengthy write-up of the new sets, which were designed by Jack Morton PDG. The sets have an unique DC flair while maintaining some of the current design language of the recent breed of O&O sets. It also confirms the former Meet the Press set is used for the new set, with the space being divided into four separate studios: one for WRC and another for WZDC, and two smaller multi-use spaces for digital-first content (one of which initially was to be used for NBC Sports Washington, but the acquisition by DC sports mogul Ted Leonsis led to the network moving to Bethesda, Maryland, rendering these plans moot).
Finally, the article also tells this is the first phase of the renovation, with a second phase involving a larger renovation of the former NBC News bureau newsroom ongoing, under the supervision of Gensler; the newsroom space will feature an updated open-space design and four new galleries, whilst the famous Correspondents' Row (where many of the most important NBC DC correspondents had its workspace) will be demolished to increase parking spaces at Nebraska Avenue. NBC is planning to rent the former WRC studio (Studio B) to third parties and the old WRC newsroom is being repurposed into sales and production offices.
