A well deserved decision by KYW management. Ukee Washington survived the dramatic Peter Dunn/David Friend sexism and misogyny scandal that hit KYW and CBS Television Stations overall in 2021, leading to Dunn and Friend's removal and the merger of the O&O structure into CBS News. Upon the uncovering of the scandal, Washington, evening anchor since 2015, received an outpouring of support from KYW's most dedicated viewers, as well as station colleagues, industry admirers and other professional organizations, including African American advocacy groups.
