Now it seems like they're targeting the medium-sized market as well... KTUL Tulsa (ABC)'s news operation is to be merged with KOKH/KOCB duopoly (Fox/independent) in Oklahoma City.

Tomorrow November 11th, 2023 marks the 90th anniversary of their broadcast debut from 30 Rockefeller Center. Sometime in the 90s I believe the renting agreement turned into a 9l year lease and from what I’ve heard no matter where you are in the Comcast/NBCU place there’s always construction going on.

I know the BBC turned 100 this year but I kind of discount the years that it was owned by the various radio manufacturers as it’s not the proper format of BBC today.

Also, one day before the Republican debate NBC Nightly News they were from Miami and they used the virtual 1A that JDB uses on Saturdays.

Also here’s the broadcast prior to the debate.

NBC probably used the same VR space JDB Reports uses.

The RNC debate spin room during Hallie Jackson Now.

And here’s an “NBC Studios at Telemundo”.

Just a bunch of debate clips that may be of interesting.

KGNS, the NBC and ABC affiliate in Laredo, Texas, is the latest to receive the GrayOne package. A really nice spruce up: The previous sofas don't scream news to me, especially when they're the only local news in town.

This coincided with their move from the Del Mar Boulevard studio in the north to the southern parts of the region, as a vote of confidence to the station.

KXNU, their Telemundo sister station, also made the move, possibly the first to do so in the Spanish network.

They also changed themes back to "Signature" a theme they used from 1998 to 2005

WWL in New Orleans is using a new theme

The station is turning 75 next year on Halloween, so today they've decided to go back to using the theme on newscasts.

Back to NBC, after rebranding the station to just 'Coast TV' in July, WRDE in Salisbury, Maryland has new graphics since mid-October. Some resemblence to network news here and there, especially the centre-aligned headlines:

The 6pm news has a different opener - headlines on the side like Today/Nightly News.

This has to be one of the most amazing themes Ive heard in years! (mind its not used very well.) But I actually love it. It SOOOO NEW ORLEANS. This is what news themes used to have a flavour of. Wow! Talk about picking a theme that fits the locale.

YOu can really hear it in the closing theme. TOtally sounds like a 2nd Line celebration with a news slant.

If you dont know anything about New Orleans that theme has 2nd LINE vibes. Kinda shocked actually. A 2nd Line is a spontaneous parade that results in street band playing a specific style of New Orleans music (1st Line) and everyone else (2nd Line) marching and dancing in the street. And yes this is a real thing in New Orleans and many many funerals end with a 2nd LIne celebration thru the streets. Dancing and jolly music. American is not a monolith.

For what it’s worth Coast TV - WRDE-LD (is well on several LD translators and a full height tower) is focused more on Rehoboth DElaware. I’ve watched it when I’ve been on vacation the products decent and given a fact that a station group that operates 4 affiliates (CBS and Fox on WBOC and NBC and Telemundo) is impressive they were going to set up a seperate news team focusing on Deleware. Where CBS and Fox use the same team but are not on at the same times.

NBC News Now has updated its logo, bringing it in line with the NBC News logo that's already being used on the likes of the Nightly News and Today.

www.newscaststudio.com

And, in what's likely to be the final update on the UK morning opt-out for a repeat of the previous day's Today show, it's gone. It hasn't been shown for the last 2 weeks.

I was watching during the last one and it disappeared under slightly strange circumstances. It started as usual but, at the end of (or possibly even slightly before the end of) the first block of the show, they dumped back into Dateline on the main feed and it hasn't been on since.

A shame - it was a nice alternative to UK breakfast TV, and a lot of the content wasn't out of date, especially from the second hour onwards.

How odd that it’s disappeared for you, as I’ve been regularly watching (including Today) on NBC News Now streams through BTTV and Now.
